Prints Detailed, Color-Accurate Images at Productive 710 sf/hr in Two-Pass Mode
ATLANTA, Ga., October 15, 2008 – Durst’s new 126”-wide Rho 320R Large-Format UV Inkjet Roll Printer, which sets a new standard for production inkjet roll printing, is making its U.S. debut at the SGIA conference and trade show here, Durst Image Technology U.S., LLC, said today.
The most demanding, profitable imaging applications – such as light box displays, illuminated posters, window graphics, POP displays and advertising textiles – can be executed successfully on Durst’s Rho 320R. It prints on a very wide range of coated and uncoated media up to 10.5 ft. wide at speeds up to 1,440 sf/hr.
But what sets the Rho 320R apart, Durst said, is its ability to print smooth, detailed, color-accurate images that stand up to the closest inspection and satisfy the most discerning client –at a reliable 710 sf/hr in efficient two-pass mode. Displayed at SGIA Booth #1861.
“Two-pass mode on our new Rho 320R has no equal in terms of image quality and productivity,” said Christopher Howard, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Durst U.S. “It offers unprecedented image quality, productivity, versatility and workflow benefits – with a remarkably low impact on the environment – and represents the new quality standard for large-format inkjet roll-to-roll printing. Commercial imagers who must meet the quality and efficiency requirements of today’s market won’t find a better production roll printer.”
There is an option for printing two rolls side by side up to a width of 62 inches each and a further option for perfectly registered doubled sided printing, which includes a media tracking facility.
The Rho 320R also has the ability to print white in line just like the rest of the Rho product family, giving users even more opportunities for unique applications. With the Rho 320R, Durst offers the highest reliability, the capability of 24/7 production and the best service support in the industry.
The Rho 320R features precision components and capabilities developed by Durst and incorporated into all of its newest UV inkjet printing platforms. They include innovative Quadro® Array 30-picolitre print head technology, and a new print carriage that moves via a proprietary magnetic linear drive system. They also include Durst’s unmatched white ink and special-effect varnish printing, versatile light color and spot color options, and intuitive user software. Image processing and workflow is controlled by the Caldera Grand RIP+.
Among its “green” credentials, the Rho 320R utilizes the environmentally friendly, low odor Durst Rho Roll Ink which offers a wide color gamut and high color density. The UV Rho Roll Ink is also fully VOC free giving businesses the advantage of working in a sustainable production environment, which many retailers and consumer goods companies are looking for from their service providers.
